Megger MIT-525/1025/1525 and S1-568/1068/1568 USB Drivers

Driver install file for newer Megger insulation testers MIT-525/1025/1525. These are normally installed automatically by Windows when plugging the instrument in for the first time, if connected to the Internet. Download the attachment for the rare exception when Windows cannot automatically locate the file.

There have been reports that certain Windows 10 machines are not accepting the signed driver properly and need a separate solution. For those cases here is another driver that can be tried. Click here to download

The extracted file can be placed anywhere on your PC. When your PC searches for the driver file, you might have to browse to its location. Then the PC will take a copy and place it into a Windows system folder. After that you can usually delete the extracted file.

Any available drivers for Windows 10? Version 2.8.14 is not compatible.

This driver is definitely compatible with Windows 10. Try updating the driver a second time. On more than one occasion I have seen it take two times for the driver to be accepted or installed.

Thank you for the quick answer, but no, not working for me with a MIT525.

I tried both loading manually from the zip attached to this post and by letting windows download the driver automatically. Same result. If I update the driver from device manager windows tells me that "The best drivers for your device are already installed".

In device manager the "Megger Device" appears with a yellow warning sign and device status is:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    {Bad Image}
%hs is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0x

I believe you will need to contact Megger in Dover, Kent, UK for assistance with this. That is where the MIT525 is manufactured and the driver was developed. They can be reached at +44 1304 502100

When downloading the folder I do not see the .exe file, I installed it directly from the CD but when I want to transfer data via USB it does not detect the driver or the ports. In the device manager of my computer, it appears that I connected the device but with an error icon and suggest looking for an update.

I call to the assistance phones but none is working, also sent and email.

There is no install program. Simply unzip the folder onto your PC. In the Device Manager right click on the unknown device and select Update Driver. Then browse to the folder that you unzipped.

You may have to run the update twice if it does not work after the first update.

Nicola, Did you ever find a solution?

Yes, not an official solution, never got an answer from Megger UK.

I found out that two files are missing in the driver provided by Megger: ftdibus.sys and ftser2k.sys

My solution was to copy the SYS files from the fdti driver to the Megger driver.

Check the driver version in the Megger ftdibus.inf file and download the relevant FDTI driver. In may case the filename was: CDM v2.12.24 WHQL Certified.zip

I cannot say if this solution is safe or not but worked for me on two Windows 10 PC. Good luck.

For anyone that also is having this problem... As of right now, if your computer can access the windows update service, let windows find the best drivers during install. If your IT department blocks access to windows update, your computer believes the 2011 driver is the newest. We found a copy of the 2016 drivers on the powerdb website under "Downloads" and miscellaneous. It's called "S1 Windows 10 Drivers".

There is no license required to use the Megger S1-1068 with PowerDB Lite. Are you having a problem with the instrument or downloading the data? If so, please email support@powerdb.com for assistance.

Thanks very much Mark. i was able to finally work through the S1-1068.

But i still have need for registration i believed. This is because SPI225 Primary injection is also requesting for license registration and i am still looking for the serial number of the device.

I have a MEGGER 8GB flash drive that came with the SPI225, and it has like two files in there, one is installation drivers executable format and the second is a note pad.

i truly will like any available assistance on how to not only register this device, but how to get it used for particularly relay test.

    Best Regards,

    John

John, suggest you contact Megger Technical Support Group for assistance with the instrument. There should be no registration required unless you are using the PowerDB Pro version of the software. You can reach Megger TSG thru your Megger sales representative.

Hi experiencing the same issue, I have uninstalled the driver, tried using windows update method and also the driver you have provided in the zip, no solutions are working.

    Using Win11.

    Please provide some additional steps.

I was able to resolve the issue, it required me turning off the Core Isolation Memory Integrity and restarting the computer.

Outstanding Issue being that this cannot be turned back on if you want it to work, it seems like a incompatibility with the driver and would require a new driver version to resolve.
